I have been working on this for something like a week and a half now. I like the way it finally came out though. I got a chance to use some cool instruments too.
The sitar-like thing you're hearing is actually an instrument called a "mountain dulcimer". Despite its foreign appearance it is actually the only instrument known to be fully invented in the united states. jmceld.home.mindspring.com/mdulcimr.jpg
The other odd instrument is that thing that sounds a bit like a Mellotron is actually my attempt at just that. It is my crappy radio shack key board open air recorded from my orange guitar amp. I turned down all the mids and highs on the amp and cut half the bands on the EQ to give it a more realistic sound.
This is the third song of the trilogy I have been working on that also includes "Selfish Love" and "On a Wire"
lyrics
looking up at my empty wall
I lay my head back down and call to you
My head just hurts too much today
and I don't have much to say except I'm blue
Ahhhh- I'm blue
Ahhhh- I'm Blue
I pull the strings on my old guitar
I lift myself I laugh at what you do
You eyes of ivory gold reflection
turn in my direction quite confused
Ahhhh- You do
Ahhhh- You do
I'm just here in my lonely room
with images of cheap perfume
the world keeps passing by in shades of gray
giving only second thoughts today
*mellotron solo*
Life passes quickly
there's no time to sit down and enjoy the view
Things just go so wrong for me
it's like every thing I know just isn't true
Ahhh- so true
Ahhh- So true
I'm just here in my lonely room
with images of cheap perfume
the world keeps passing by in shades of gray
only giving second thoughts today
Life passes quickly there's no time to sit down and enjoy the view........
