This one took a few days in editing but I think the results were worth it. That intro in particular was about 2 hours of looking at tracks .05 seconds at a time. I love some of the interesting things I was able to do with some new micing techniques and effects. It's a bit more rock than folk but I'm pleased with whatever it is I ended up with.
I came up with this song one night last week when I wasn't able to get to sleep. So I kept myself company with a guitar and notebook. I'll be uploading the demo as well which is just a simple guitar and vocal track done on a noisy mic.
Instrumentation:
Everything was played and sung by myself.
-Rainsong COWS 1100 graphite guitar (primary rhythm, harmonics and lead) [XY mic'd with Rode NT1A at the neck/body joint and Realistic cardioid condenser below the bridge + overdubbed]
- Rebuilt 1933 silver tone acoustic (slide guitar) [overhead mic'd and fitted with soundboard stick on "bottle cap" pickup]
-The backup vocals are 9 voices [different mic angles distance and differing amounts of reverb/echo and stereo offset to give them some extra depth]
-The lead vocals [overdubbed 3 times]
Hope you enjoy it =^.^=
I'm hoping to play a bit more with some of these ideas.
lyrics
Rain
falls like tears on natures face
it pools blue
as she cries
as we
make our last stand
and fall to the ground
just another day in the universe
as we all say goodbye.
